Skyview Reaching Out

Skyview Reaching Out exists…

to help provide educational and service opportunities locally, nationally and internationally, with an emphasis on community. We strive to empower all ages within Skyview Community Church to show and share the love of Christ.

SRO consists of two teams: SRO Local, which focuses on local outreach and building partnerships within our community and the city of Calgary; and SRO Global, which focuses on international outreach, primarily through the initiatives and goals of Nazarene Missions International (NMI).

Nazarene Missions International (NMI): NMI is the organization for mobilizing the local church in missions in the Church of the Nazarene and the denomination’s representative for missions on the district and in the local church. It is supported through the regular giving, prayer, and participation of Nazarene churches around the globe.

NMI focuses on five areas of impact:

1.     Prayer, in particular for our missionaries

2.     Alabaster Offerings in September & February, which provide funds for property and buildings around the world that are erected for the purpose of ministry.

3.     Engaging Children & Youth in all missions endeavors and nurturing them as they seek to respond to God’s call.

4.     World Evangelism Fund (WEF) giving, through both a percentage of Skyview’s annual tithes and offerings, as well as specified offerings at Thanksgiving and Easter.  This is an act of giving done in all Nazarene churches, and all funds that are given to WEF are distributed to missionaries, and ministries in six world regions around the globe.

5.     LINKS is a network of personal connections between Nazarene missionaries and churches around the globe. Participating missionaries are assigned to districts to help foster a personal connection between missionaries and the local church.
