Skyview Reaching Out (SRO)
Attend a meeting!
We meet once a month on the second Sunday of every month, 15 minutes after the service has ended. We meet in Room 205, and begin our meeting with a light lunch. Meetings are open to anyone who has an interest in Skyview’s outreach programs. We’d also love to hear from you if there is a ministry you’d like to see happen!
‘Adopt’ a University Student
Home Away from Home is a ministry that connects international students at the University of Calgary with a local church family. It has been very encouraging to hear stories of how it has touched both the students and the Skyview families who welcome them! With new students expected to arrive in January, the program is looking for new families to match them with! If you are interested in hearing more about this program or getting involved, visit their website and/or speak to Richard Ashton! We'll have more to share about this program and other exiting Skyview Reaching Out initiatives in early January!
Stay tuned for other events throughout the year…
SRO has many exciting opportunities to be involved in outreach throughout the year whether it be a food bank drive, visits to the Mustard Seed with Skyview’s youth, visits from NMI or Seed of Hope missionaries, Operation Christmas child, missions trips…check your bulletin for details or contact email@example.com
We Also Support
Church of the Nazarene
As a member of the church of the Nazarene we are passionate about making a difference in the world by taking the good news of Jesus Christ to people everywhere. Today there are 724 missionaries and volunteers serving around the world. Each week, Nazarenes worship in more than 212 languages or tribal languages, with literature produced in 90 of these. The church operates 33 medical clinics and hospitals worldwide. This missionary enterprise is made possible by the contributions of the global Nazarene family. Nazarenes also engage in starting new churches and congregations by praying, giving, and supporting worldwide volunteers and contracted missionaries.
